Wedding Videography From Southern Leyte - Not just a wedding video but a Film of your Most Romantic Day - Your Wedding Day
Every wedding is a similar 3 plot story:
(1) the bride and groom prepares
(2) they get married
(3) and party over.
That perhaps we see it as a presumed sequences in a wedding event. These poses a great challenge for the videographers or film makers in the wedding videography scene to make one's wedding video a truely unique and romantic one.
Having reviewed this sequences for almost seven years in the industry, I see the challenge to make a more compact and a more profound cinematic presentation of your wedding video that truely depicts the story behind your wedding day.
Traditional Wedding Video
Having remembered my sister's wedding video on VHS and BetaMax, there wedding video is rolled on tape with 2-3 hours wedding video. That when you are going to reminisce the event you won't event go further than 30 minutes, most specially when the viewer is not the couple. Even up to this moment wedding videographers from Leyte and Southern Leyte and most wedding videographers in the Philippines are still using this kind of presentation. 1 - 2 hours of final video using non-linear editing systems but now saved in optic media the DVD.
This is a style that has been passed on from generations. The wedding video before usually opens with the bride lying in the bed arranging her wedding accessories then, a very long roll of the accessories and then we see the mother of the bride giving the bouquet to the bride. Making group videos of her entourage and then opens the door all the way to the bridal car. Then the processional, the ceremony, the pictorials and the reception. Very predictable that the viewer already knew what's happening next. Most of the scenes we see seems scripted and choreographed. I admit this is also my style before but more creative than the usual one.
Our New Wedding Video Style
The Preparation
What makes a wedding video more exciting to watch is that it will picture the natural happening of the event rather than a choreographed and scripted one. The photographer, - me for this instance is the one conducting the pictorials, providing the bride and groom usual poses that is fitted for the charater. The videographers are there in the background documenting the whole event taking shots from the groom and bride all the way to everybody in the venue. Wedding accessories and details are also taken. One of our trademark shots are the glide shots taken from one of the videographers in team.
It is in the post production that this video takes will be edited together and build a more coherent, more informative yet fun and exciting story behind your wedding preparation. Truely, the editors skill in building stories outlining the sequences will give us a better polished video.

The Wedding Ceremony
The heart of any wedding is the ceremonies at the church wherein the couple would recite their promise of loving forever directly to each other in front of the solemnizing priest and the many witnesses present. Spectacle drama we can see while the bride walking down the aisle mesmerized for uncertainty she have to face but fired by the love she have for the man in his dreams. On the other end is an excited husband and a bewildered guest and families who is watching them every second as the moment unfolds.
It's a very clear picture. But do we see that in the actual videos shot by usual videographer? Mostly no. I tell you this, in my self-study of film making, there I discovered that shooting a wedding video has a grammar. We are not just shooting the subject for the purpose that they will see their faces on TV. But we are shooting the feelings within and the romance wrapped up in their faces. The shifting of cameras and the application of cinematic camera movement - vertical and horizontal glides and a synchronized movement among camera men have contributed much in highlighting the moment.
Post production will weave this materials into a compelling love story. Consider this wedding video, the event is not presented chonologically yet the logical flow of the event is very transparent and clear. There is a seamless transition of events and the tension and release is evident. You cannot presume whats happening next and this makes the viewer hooked to the action.
No more lenghtly presentation. On this presentation it only took aproximately 11 minutes to wrapped up all the drama and action of the church ceremonies.

The Reception
Our video style in taking the reception is again a varied one. From the very journalistic one to the most romantic one. Again the unique juxtaposition of events is very evident making the wedding video of the reception more fun to watch.
Since, I have already mentioned the styles we used in documenting your wedding video. I have just to say that videography as well as photography equipment are NOTHING BUT TOOLS. The true output greatly depends on the skill of the man behind the lens, the editor, the story teller and teamwork of the team.
Once again thank you for reading.... and enjoy the rest of the post with this selected full-length wedding video at the reception.
Thank you and God bless.
